There’s seemingly no situation in which wine does not fit in. Whether you’re out with your friends, relaxing with a good book, or looking for a way to destress after a long day at the office, a glass of wine is always a nice addition. It makes sense that wine would have its own dedicated month in Michigan, especially with all of the local wineries we are blessed with. So with that in mind, here are some great Southeast Michigan wineries or bars where you can celebrate Michigan Wine Month.
Rattlesnake Club
The locally grown and sourced Rattlesnake Club offers not only beautiful views of Detroit’s Riverfront, but also some of the best Michigan wines in the area. The winery already had their Michigan Wines Showcase earlier this month, but they will continue with such wine events as Chef’s Dinner ft. Verterra Winery on Thursday, May 11, Mother’s Day Brunch on Sunday, May 14, and Half-Off Wine Wednesdays every Wednesday.
Michigan By the Bottle Wine Month Giveaway
Michigan by the Bottle Tasting Rooms are a great place to try the latest Michigan wines while attending one of the events going on throughout each month. Their Sips & Serenity: Yoga & Wine events are always a hit, while Tasting & Tunes is a fun Thursday night out at the Auburn Hills location. Angelina Italian Bistro
Angelina Italian Bistro is one of the most traditional Italian restaurants in metro Detroit, so you already know they offer some fine wine to go with their meals. Their French Wine Sippers class takes place on Wednesday, May 10 and will fill-up fast so make sure you call or email to make your reservation.
Northville Winery
Northville Winery located across from the Northville Cider Mill features all Michigan-made wine and beers. Every bottle is filled and labeled by hand so you know you are getting a truly Michigan-made drink. Wines include the Cranberry Apple Wine, Meditative Merlot, Michigan Vidal, and Pink Moon.
The Royce
The Royce in downtown Detroit is one of the premiere wine shop and bars in the area, and they will certainly help you celebrate Michigan Wine month the right way. The wine shop hosts free wine tastings every Wednesday night, and will be hosting their Wines of France Tasting on Saturday, May 13.
