Luca Pastry brings an Italian-inspired twist to pączki at its locations. Known for specialty cakes and dessert trays, the bakery’s standout pączki include a cannoli-filled version with chocolate chips and powdered sugar, along with a Boston Cream topped in chocolate ganache. Other staples include raspberry and strawberry glazed, lemon, and Bavarian. Owner Michael Cangialosi shares, “Being primarily an Italian-inspired pastry shop, the idea was to create a fun Italian-filled version of the paczki. With the success of our Cannoli paczki, we have become a destination for all flavors, and Paczki week and day are among, if not the busiest, days and weeks for us.” To keep things engaging, weekly rotating flavors range from Dubai chocolate and blueberry cheesecake to apricot and pineapple options. Keep an eye on their social pages for the weekly flavor, or gear up for Fat Tuesday for your fill.

For the Love of Sugar is known for pushing boundaries with its desserts, and its pączki lineup is no exception. Owner Manal Hussein tells us, “We know you can get paczki from many places, but we really wanted to create different flavors you wouldn’t be able to get anywhere else. All of the fillings and custards are house-made and from scratch.” Highlights include the Matilda pączki (inspired by their iconic Matilda cake), filled with chocolate custard and topped with ganache and chocolate chips, “most popular” creme brulee pączki with vanilla bean custard and caramelized sugar, and “if you’re looking for something different, try the knafeh, which has rose water, orange blossom flavors, and is topped with pistachios and shredded filo.” This bakery also offers a wide range of additional flavors such as Birthday, Oreo, Cannoli, Strawberry Shortcake, Bavarian Cream, Baklava, Tiramisu, Lemon Blueberry, and NILLA Banana Cream. Get your pre-orders in and prepare for pick-up on February 16th and 17th.

New Palace Bakery is often referred to as Pączki Headquarters, and for good reason. With a deep-rooted history dating back to 1908 and a vast selection, the bakery simplifies ordering by offering seven curated box options available for pre-order or in-store purchase. Guests can choose from half-dozen boxes of single flavors like raspberry, strawberry, custard, or prune, or dozen boxes featuring traditional combinations such as raspberry, strawberry, and blueberry or custard, lemon, and apple. Specialty dozen boxes include flavors like Cook-zki (cookie butter buttercream), peanut butter and jelly, strawberry cheesecake, buttercream, Cinnacream (filled with a cream cheese glaze mixture and topped with cinnamon sugar glaze, powdered sugar, and cinnamon), and triple chocolate, making it a perfect choice for those who want to sample a little of everything.

Eastern Market Brewing Company puts a spirited spin on pączki season with its highly anticipated pączki-inspired beer lineup. This year, the brewery introduced entirely new base beer styles designed specifically to complement each flavor, drawing on experience with sours, IPAs, and stouts. “Pączki Beer has grown every year, but 2026 felt like the moment to rethink everything,” said Dayne Bartscht, Founder of Eastern Market Brewing Co. “Each of these beers starts with a different foundation. That lets us dial in mouthfeel, sweetness, acidity, and aroma.” These brews completely sold out during pre-orders, but the beers will be available during the annual Pączki Block Party on February 14, featuring fresh pączki, live entertainment, and more, including Classic Raspberry Blonde Pączki, Cherry Cheesecake Imperial Pączki, Orange Creamsicle Milkshake Pączki, Lemon Blueberry Sour Pączki, and Maple Coffee Pastry Pączki. The block party will be hosted on Riopelle Street by Eastern Market Brewing Co. alongside Detroit City Distillery.

Whether you stick with time-honored classics or seek out bold new flavors, Metro Detroit’s pączki options deliver something for every kind of sweet tooth. With bakeries, pop-ups, and even breweries getting in on the celebration, the season offers plenty of opportunities to savor this beloved tradition.
