It’s no secret that giving back to our communities is a smart thing to do. Lifting each other up is how we rise together and thanks to some talented organizers, there are plenty of great events in metro Detroit that are all about giving back. From rooftop parties to 5K runs, here are four events in metro Detroit that put the fun into fundraising!

313 in the D (7/27)

Now in its fourth year, 313 in the D is an annual rooftop party at 3Fifty Terrace in Detroit with proceeds going to Matrix Center. Matrix Center is a local community center that serves more than 4,600 children and adults each month through education programs, family support programs and the rebuilding of neighborhoods. Enjoy a cash bar, raffles, silent auction, live DJ and more.

Ride Richmond to benefit A Beautiful Me (7/29)

In its inaugural year, Ride Richmond is a bike-riding event to benefit the charity organization A Beautiful Me, which works to promote self-esteem and positive self-image in girls and women. The bike ride will begin at the Richmond Community Center and run along the Macomb Orchard Trail. You can sign up for one-mile, 15-mile or 25-mile bike rides.

Dog Aide Fundraiser at M-Brew (7/30)

M-Brew in Ferndale is hosting a fundraiser to benefit Dog Aide, an organization whose mission it is to educate dog owners, provide K-9 necessities and more. “The fundraiser will take place from 2-6 pm and feature $13.99 all-you-can-eat BBQ (vegan and vegetarian options are available), with 20% of sales going towards Dog Aide.”

Adventure starts with a vehicle that’s up for anything. Trailblazer combines comfort you want, the versatility you need, and the technology to make every moment count.

The Sugar Rush 5K (8/12)

The aptly named Sugar Rush 5K is a 5K run/walk where attendees get to indulge in a few sweets after crossing the finish line. That might sound like the best part of this charity event, but it’s really the fact that you get to choose which charity organization you want the funds you raise through the run/walk to go to.

“Chipping Away at Cancer” Golf Outing (8/18)

The Cancer Awareness and Resource Network (CARN) is hosting the first annual “Chipping Away at Cancer” Golf Outing at Lakes of Taylor Golf Course. CARN works to promote the message that all types of cancer matter and helps cancer fighters and their families across Michigan. A dinner will immediately follow the outing and dinner-only tickets are available.
