What better way to get Merry & Bright this season? Sweater weather in Metro Detroit also comes with a myriad of holiday pop-up bars, putting their best drinks forward. This tradition has been around for years and isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. Check out these holiday pop-up bars and indulge in all the Christmas cheer they have to offer.
The Oakland
The Oakland is a Ferndale favorite, especially since the space is transformed every holiday season, “decking their halls and jingling their bells” in the words of the staff. From now until December 30, the Miracle at The Oakland pop-up bar is available for anyone to stop in and enjoy. The all-out Christmas decor and selection of specialty holiday-themed drinks are sure to put a smile on the face of those who decide to take a peek inside. The menu includes Grandma Got Run Over By A T-Rex, Christmapolitan, Santa’s Little Helper, Christmas Cricket, Elfing Around, Holiday Spiked Chai, Snowball Old-Fashioned, Jingle Balls Nog, Yippee Ki Yay Mother F****!, Mulled Wine, Nice Shot, and Naughty Shot.
The Skip
The Sippin’ Santa pop-up bar is back at The Skip, spreading Christmas joy all throughout Downtown Detroit. This year’s menu boasts the Kris Kringle Colada, Sippin’ Santa, Holiday on Ice, Yule Tide, Island of Misfit Toys, Undertow Toddy, Jingle Bird, Rudolph’s Rum Rhapsody, and the Top Shelf Elf, served in festive mugs and glasses which are also available for purchase. December 31 will be the last day— time’s a tickin’!
Blitzen’s on Bagley
Blizten’s on Bagley visitors are certainly in for a treat. In addition to the holiday-themed drink menu, the crew also brought in a secret weapon– a pastry chef. Have some freshly baked cookies with your drink and witness the gingerbread house community displayed above the bar. The drink menu features green Grinch Punch, very merry marg, spiked egg nog, and hard hot chocolate. For those folks in need of some grub, grab some Shell Shock’d Tacos or Goblin Sushi to go.
Jingle at Ale Mary’s
Jingle all the way at Jingle pop-up bar at Ale Mary’s. From now until January 2, surround yourself with a beautiful display of Christmas lights and walls covered in wrapping paper and grab one (or a few) of the specialty holiday drinks, served in Christmas mugs. Jingle at Ale Mary’s also has Christmas cookies available.
The Dasher Room at Testa Barra
The Testa Barra team has finally opened up the Dasher Room, a special space where folks can enjoy food and holiday cocktails, with a side of Christmas cheer. Aunt Margaret Drank Too Much Again, You’ll Shoot Your Eye Out, Bumble All the Way, Santa Baby, By the Open Fire, Scrooge, Kringle Tea, Naughty & Spice, Coquitos Cousin, and The Night Before are what the drink menu entails this season.
