Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers and Detroit Free Press have teamed up for the Top 10 Takeover, a series of restaurant takeovers that will highlight the ten best new restaurants in Detroit and the surrounding area. Last time we looked at Mabel Gray. Next, the Takeover heads to Royal Oak to check out La Dulce on June 28.

La Dulce, a restaurant whose kitchen is headed up by executive chef Hector Sanz, is located in Royal Oak and serves up flavorful, inventful Spanish tapas that are a departure from the ordinary. The Tuesday, June 28 Takeover will offer restaurant-goers five courses of delicious Spanish and Mexican cuisine, each one unique to this one night.

The first course will treat Takeover ticket-holders to a Trio de Mar: Conchas borrachas (scallop ceviche with spicy lime and pisco sauce); pintxo de calamar relleno de morcilla (blood sausage stuffed cuttlefish skewer); chalupa de cangrejo (masa shell with chard and crab meat).

The second course is called Ajo Blanco, which is a chilled Andalusian-style soup with pomegranate and piqual olive oil. The third course is a skewer dish known as Pintxo de Morcilla al PX con Foie. These pan seared morel skewers are coupled with foie gras in a Pedro Ximenez sherry reduction. The fourth course is a Segovia-style suckling pig ingot known as Lingote de Cochinillo Asado.
