The Halloween season is one of the best times of the year for both adults and children. Adults can get spooked by watching scary movies, going to haunted attractions, or even visiting real life horror spots, while kids get to enjoy some delicious candy from trick or treating.
Trick or treating is a fun event for families, but with Halloween unfortunately falling on weekday this year, there might be some concern about staying out past your bedtime. Don’t worry, the metro Detroit communities have plenty of trick or treat events taking place over the weekend that are sure to be a spooky good time.
Kids will be able to enjoy the beautiful nature trails of the Oakwood Lake Township Park at the annual Jack-O-Lantern Jamboree. The event will include trick or treating, hayrides, and a great pumpkin patch. Registration is required, visit the Oxford Parks & Recreation website for more information. Downtown Clawson will be a scary fun place this Saturday as kids will be able to enjoy some trick or treating from local businesses. The treats will be allergy friendly and the Clawson Police and Fire Department will be on hand to help pass out candy. Milford will be having their annual Boo Bash this Saturday for an afternoon filled with family Halloween fun. Milford businesses will be passing out candy to all costumed kids starting at 5 p.m. The Northville Halloween tradition, Streets of Treats, will return this Saturday morning for a parade, trick or treating, and more fun fall activities. The kids’ costume parade will kick off at 9:30 a.m. at the community center and you’ll be able to enjoy trick or treating until noon. The streets of downtown Royal Oak will come alive for a fun trick or treat event to cap off the weekend. Downtown businesses will be passing out candy to trick or treaters and the whole family will be able to enjoy games, bounce houses, and more special activities.
