There’s something special about Thanksgiving dinner. The big spread, the gathering of family, and football all make Thanksgiving a day to remember. While preparing the perfect turkey is a great way to celebrate the holiday, sometimes responsibilities or living situations present challenges for getting the whole family under one roof. That doesn’t mean you have to miss out. You can still experience the specialness of Thanksgiving by going to one of these great metro Detroit restaurants that offer Thanksgiving dinners, no matter what you’re in the mood for.

Traditional Family Dinner: D’Amato’s Italian Restaurant

The Royal Oak Italian restaurant, D’Amatos, always provides a satisfying dining experience with their extensive menu, cocktail options, and fine atmosphere. The restaurant will be offering a family style dinner on Thanksgiving running from 12 p.m. until 6 p.m. For more details and to make reservations, be sure to visit their Facebook page.

Thanksgiving Feast: Fleming’s Steakhouse

Fleming’s Steakhouse in Birmingham always offers up some of the best steaks around, but their Thanksgiving Feast has become one of their best traditions. The three course menu includes a lobster bisque, your choice of mixed-herb roasted turkey or sliced beef tenderloin, and either an apple crisp or pumpkin cheesecake for dessert. The restaurant also offers a Thanksgiving Parade Brunch meal, but that’s sold out for this year so be sure to keep that in mind for next year.

Buffet Style: Waves

St. Clair Shores’ premiere “chill and grill” restaurant, Waves, is known for its seafood and surf and turf dishes. The restaurant will be hosting a special Thanksgiving Day buffet from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. The menu will include a gourmet fresh fruit display, cornbread pudding, five cheese macaroni and cheese, assorted breads and sweet rolls, and of course, a traditional herb roasted turkey with brioche stuffing. You can find more about what’s on the menu and how you can reserve your spot on Waves’ website.
