SHERWOOD BREWING COMPANY

Sherwood Brewing Company is not just a brewery; it’s a gathering place for craft beer aficionados and families alike. This modern brewpub offers a variety of housemade beer along with live music and more. Open since August 2006, Sherwood has created a community to celebrate its innovative brews and hearty pub fare. Stand-out brews include Jamocha Stout, Cracker Jacked for a caramel PB amber ale, or Mulligan for the fans of cream ales. The pizzas here also stand out, with sauces like bold and spicy beer sauce for a build-your-own and specialty pies like dill pickle, Nashville chicken, and Cuban pizzas. Specials range from 1/2 off pizza Wednesdays and $6 pub burgers Thursdays to Hoppy Hour Tuesdays through Fridays from 3 to 5 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 9 to 11 p.m.

JOE’S ITALIAN TAKE-OUT

Cooking homemade food all day long, Joe’s Italian Take-Out is the perfect place for those looking for fresh yet comforting Italian fare. From handhelds like the meatball subs with extra-large meatballs and classic muffuletta slices to delicious portabella mushroom ravioli or ricotta cheese gnocchi, everything is made with care. New York-style pizzas are freshly made, including the muffuletta pizza, made with the classic crispy sesame seed bread. And for dessert, don’t forget about the cannoli, almond cream cake, or caramel pecan cheesecake. Co-owner Ashley Ciamillo shares, “Joe’s Italian Takeout is a family-owned and operated restaurant in Shelby Township. We are 3 generations of Italians who work at the restaurant and have a shared passion for food and family!”

SHELBY TOWNSHIP FARMERS MARKET

Shelby Farmers Market is a vibrant hub of local produce, artisan goods, and lively community interactions. Open Saturdays from mid-May through mid-October, visitors can find farm-fresh eggs, honey, maple syrup, and fresh baked goods and bread. Open rain or shine from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., this pet-friendly market is a weekend must-visit.

DETROIT FISH HOUSE

51195 Schoenherr Road, Shelby Township

Detroit Fish House elevates seafood dining with its sophisticated yet approachable menu. Their commitment to freshness and quality makes every dish—from the oysters to the signature fish entrées—a delightful experience. Starters include seafood beignets, Jamaican jerk fish bites, Stoney Creek mushroom cakes, and baked brie with red pepper jam. Chef’s creations range from Papa Bear’s Steamer Bowl with Maine lobster, king crab, mussels, shrimp, potatoes, corn, and haricot vert to Scottish salmon with a ginger glaze, grilled asparagus, and coconut jasmine rice. The truffle lobster mac and cheese stands out, as do the baby back ribs and fresh steak cuts. 

900 DEGREES PIZZERIA BISTRO

900 Degrees Pizzeria Bistro stands out with its wood-fired pizzas, authentic Italian, and cozy bistro ambiance. Each pizza is a masterpiece, crafted with artisanal ingredients and a lot of passion. Owner Sal Parisi tells us, “At 900 Degrees Pizzeria Bistro Ristorante, we pride ourselves on offering innovative and delicious Italian cuisine. Our dishes are crafted with care by our experienced chefs, who are dedicated to using only the freshest, highest-quality ingredients. Our executive Chef Lukez with 15 years of experience in Florence is committed to providing customers with an authentic Italian dining experience that they will never forget…Come and enjoy our modern take on classic Italian cuisine!” While there, the millefoglie di melanzane (eggplant, tomato sauce, parmesan, and basil), Insalata di mare (mussels, little neck clams, octopus, shrimp, and calamari), and carpaccio di filleto (thin slices of raw filet mignon, lemon juice, olive oil, and parmesan) all are must-try appetizers. For pasta selections, the lobster linguine, truffle risotto, busiate pistacchio e gamberi (pistachio pesto with shrimp) are all excellent options. The wood-fired pizza options are extensive, with toppings like of fig jam, caramelized onions, or arugula. For dessert, the tortino al cioccolato (chocolate lava cake with gelato) or the panna cotta are a must-have.

For a steak experience, choose from options like the filet mignon, prime rib au jus, or the chateaubriand for 2, which offers 2 9-ounce fillets, garden vegetables, broiled tomatoes, mushroom caps, duchess potatoes, Parisienne potatoes, and bearnaise sauce.
