Working from home doesn’t always have to mean that you literally work from your home. Whether it’s getting work done at a coworking space or places with great Wi-Fi, there are plenty of places around Metro Detroit that allow you to be productive. Here are five local coffee shops that offer the perfect environment.

Great Lakes Coffee

Featuring coffee that is farmer direct, locally roasted, and hand crafted, Great Lakes Coffee offers a wide range of coffees no matter how you like it. The fresh brews and free Wi-Fi make it a great spot to recharge before diving into a project. Great Lakes Coffee has numerous locations across Metro Detroit including Midtown, the TCF Center, the Roastery in Bloomfield Hills, Woodward Corner Market, and the Maple Theater

The Office Coffee Shop

Combining the convenience of a coffee shop with the opportunities of co-working spaces, The Office Coffee Shop is a remote worker’s dream. The Royal Oak shop offers a membership co-working space where you can enjoy private offices, faxing and printing, conference rooms and much more. If you want to just drop-in for a cup of coffee and some Wi-Fi, you can do that too. Be sure to check out the website for details on all of the offered benefits.

The Commons

Blending the atmosphere of a coffeehouse with the accessibility of a laundromat, The Commons in Midtown allows you to get your laundry done while enjoying a cup of coffee. Get a load or two of wash done while you relax in their cafe stocked with freshly baked pastries and roasted drinks. Be sure to check out their Facebook page for updates on their baked goods and events!

Adventure starts with a vehicle that’s up for anything. Trailblazer combines comfort you want, the versatility you need, and the technology to make every moment count.

Bikes & Coffee

Along the same lines of combining two shops into one, Bikes & Coffee in Detroit combines, you guessed it, a bike shop and coffee shop into one convenient location. You can get your bike worked on while you enjoy freshly brewed coffee and treats in their comfortable café, complete with a couch and coffee tables. The shop likes to keep things local as their coffee is from Ypsilanti’s Hyperion Coffee Co. and all of their snacks come from a variety of Detroit vendors.

Common Grace Coffee

Dearborn’s Common Grace Coffee offers a wide range of coffee drinks that will help you power through your workday in a comfortable environment. The shop offers free Wi-Fi, plenty of space to get work done, and occasionally live music on certain nights. Their Facebook page is updated with the latest food and drink offerings along with upcoming events.
