Give back to those who served

Our veterans gave everything to defend our freedom. From the moment of enlisting, they put their love of country and community above all else. Unfortunately, all too often, our vets do not receive the appreciation they so rightfully deserve.

Your Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers are on a mission to give back to those who answer the call…

Throughout the entire month of September, your Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers invite the community to partake in the second annual Haulin’ for Heroes donation drive – a program to support the Veterans Administration (VA) hospital in Detroit (John D. Dingell VA Medical Center) and Ann Arbor (VA Ann Arbor Health Care System).

The collection drive takes place at all 38 Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers locations. Amongst the items needed, participants are encouraged to provide shower and hygiene products, clothing, shoes, and reading glasses.

With best-in-class cargo space, top of the line safety features, and cutting edge technology, the Chevy Suburban is perfect for any family. See the Suburban's available features that can keep up with your family's lifestyle.

John Fox, president of MDCD, said he is grateful that the association of dealers has the opportunity to support metro-Detroit veterans. “A big part of MDCD’s mission is to be able to give back to our community. Being able to assist veterans with this donation drive is just one way we can do that.”

The VA Hospitals in Detroit and Ann Arbor provide care for approximately 118,000 of the roughly 300,000 veteran patients in Southeast Michigan. The items collected by MDCD will support veterans in the hospitals’ many care and treatment programs as well as provide comfort for those who are in-patient.

“It is a privilege to work with the VA hospitals through our Haulin’ for Heroes drive. It is an honor to give back to the men and women of the community that sacrificed so much for us,” Fox said.

William Browning, chief of volunteer and community relations at the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center, welcomes the assistance of Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers.

“The donation items for Haulin’ for Heroes are targeted to the practical needs of the veterans we have the honor of caring for,” Browning said. “We are grateful to have our heroes be the beneficiaries of this thoughtful Metro Detroit Chevy Dealer effort.”

Visitors to Metro Detroit Chevy Dealer showrooms are invited to place their donations in the Silverado replica bins. For a full wishlist of items to donate, visit the official Haulin’ for Heroes website.
