I have been going to the Ann Arbor Art Fair since I was a little girl and it never fails – each year I find something that I feel I absolutely cannot live without.  One of my first years (many, many moons ago) it was the ridiculously huge stuffed bear. Last year’s fair brought me face to face with a beautifully crafted silver necklace that I fell in love with.  From trinket to treasure the Art Fair is a shopping mecca.

The Ann Arbor Art Fair, which is actually four separate fairs rolled into one, truly does have something for everyone.  Every July, for 53 years now, the fair takes over the majority of downtown Ann Arbor… and let me tell you – it is a sight to see.  With over 1,100 artists it is one of the largest art fairs in the United States.

A variety of artforms, ranging from the traditional to the more modern creations, will be on display across a variety of mediums.  The categories include metalsmithing, painting, jewelry, mixed media, glass work and so much more.

Even if you’re not jumping up and down with excitement about the art, the Art Fair is still a fun time.  There are of ton of things to do besides ogle art.  With an average attendance of over 500,000 visitors, the people watching is guaranteed to be top-notch.  From live music, a diverse array of food vendors and street performances to activities for the kiddies you will not be bored.  Plus visitors are able to experience the charm of Ann Arbor.
