Every fashionista has a style icon, whether envious of Lady Gaga’s zany red carpet looks or Zooey Deschanel’s demure appearance. The good news is, luxurious fashion boutiques aren’t just for the rich and famous anymore. While you won’t find a Dash or Topshop anywhere near the Motor City, there are several local clothing shops that are just as chic and even more unique.

Stop poring over the latest issue of Vogue like a religious text and head to one of Metro Detroit’s best clothing boutiques to update your wardrobe for the fall season:

Dazzling Daniela, 424 S. Main, Plymouth: Known for its vintage inspired dresses, the collection at Dazzling Daniela ranges from day to evening looks that are perfect for both work and play. Keeping the modern, fashionable woman in mind, the boutique also sells shoes, jewelry, handbags, scarves and sunglasses. All of which are perfect pairs for one of the store’s designer dresses by Chanel, BCBG, Nina Austin and more.

Bella Mia, 535 Forest Ave., Plymouth: Nine years ago, mother-daughter team Arlette and Sarah Stobbe opened up shop in Plymouth’s downtown area. Ever since, the store has been selling laid-back dresses, bags and accessories. In 2008, Bella Mia Dressed Up was opened around the corner, and is made to cater to a more refined style of dress. The perfect place to shop for special occasions, Bella Mia Dressed Up offers a unique selection of prom and bridesmaid dresses.

Adventure starts with a vehicle that’s up for anything. Trailblazer combines comfort you want, the versatility you need, and the technology to make every moment count.

Pink Pump, 309 South Main St., Royal Oak: Pink Pump specializes in trendy shoes, clothes and accessories that are retailed at $50 and up. In 2011, Pink Pump debuted a sister store, P2, in Royal Oak. Called “the solution to a fashionista on a budget,” it offers similarly trendy clothing, shoes and accessories for $50 and under.

Flo Boutique, 404 West Willis St., Detroit: Located in Detroit’s Mid-town, Flo Boutique offers an eclectic selection of clothing for both men and women. If you’re looking for a style to reflect your laid-back attitude, this is the store for you. The funky boutique carries designer brands including Cynthia Ashby, PZI Jeans and J-Shoes.

Traffic Jam Boutique, 3019 Biddle Ave., Wyandotte: While formal wear is this store’s specialty, Traffic Jam Boutique is the ideal one stop shop for the fashionable woman on a budget. If you’re shopping for a homecoming dress this fall, be sure to drop by. Self-proclaimed as “the hottest place to find the coolest dresses,” the boutique assures that it will not sell the same gown in the same color to anyone else attending your event.

Caruso Caruso, 166 West Maple Rd., Birmingham: With 20 different designer denim brands for women and 19 for men, Caruso Caruso is the place to shop if you’ve got an eye for designer labels. Since the store stocks a large number of high-end brands, they come at a high-end price. Hot items include a denim-like sweat set by Vintage Havana and a pleated red dress by Ronny Kobo, both of which are perfect transition pieces for fall.
