Enjoying the fresh air and plenty of space to run around, your dog will have a blast soaking up a beautiful fall day. If you haven’t been to these Metro Detroit dog parks yet, be sure to do so before the snow starts falling!
LYON OAKS DOG PARK
52221 Pontiac Trail, Wixom
Lyon Oaks Dog Park features a 13-acre fenced enclosure with a small dog area, benches, shelter and picnic tables, a water fountain, and a field training area. Dogs must have up-to-date vaccinations, respond to voice commands, and have a license.

SWIFT RUN DOG PARK
4000 Platt Road, Ann Arbor
Swift Run Dog Park is a 10-acre dog park that is fenced around the entire perimeter. There is a separate fenced area for dogs less than 20 pounds. Each dog play area has benches, waste stations, and plenty of room to run. Entrance to the park requires an annual off-leash dog permit.
NOVI DOG PARK
42390 Nick Lidstrom Drive, Novi
Novi Dog Park is a three-acre off-leash dog park with space for dogs of all sizes. Nearly 3/4 of an acre is set aside for small or timid dogs. A key fob is needed for entry and is available once you complete a short online course and provide proof of required vaccinations and your current Dog License. The Novi Dog Park is a membership-based park with an annual fee.
RED OAKS DOG PARK
31353 Dequindre Road, Madison Heights
Red Oaks Dog Park is a 5.2-acre parcel with a shelter, a small dog area, canine drink-filling stations, a paved parking lot, and limited street light illumination for extended hours in fall and winter. Dogs must have up-to-date vaccinations, respond to voice commands, and have a license.
CANTON DOG PARK
Denton Road North of Cherry Hill Road, Canton
Canton Dog Park has six acres of fenced-in, outdoor space for dogs to run and play off-leash, with specific rules to help ensure a safe and positive experience for everyone. The park is divided into a large dog section for animals over 20 pounds, and a small dog section for animals under 20 pounds. Canton Dog Park is a membership-based park.
FERNDALE DOG PARK
1280 Hilton Road, Ferndale
Ferndale Dog Park is located inside Wilson Park. This park features several amenities including safe key card access, fenced play areas for large and small dogs, sitting areas, dog water stations, waste pickup stations, urine-resistant shrubbery, and more. Dog park membership is available to both residents and non-residents who have completed the required Dog Park Safety Course offered virtually every second Wednesday of the month.
