Subscription boxes make great presents, since they’re essentially the gift that keeps on giving. Sign your makeup obsessed best friend up for Birchbox or your cousin who loves his dog more than anything for Barkbox and they’ll love you forever.

Most of us are familiar with the popular subscription boxes, but what about local ones? Yes, you can have Michigan-made products delivered right to your door each and every month, too!

Made in Michigan Box allows you to “experience Michigan at your doorstep” with four or more Michigan-centric items each month. The best part is that each box is based around a particular theme, so all of the items have something to do with each other. You might open your box one month to find locally made barbeque sauce and jam, then a coffee mug and specialty food items the next.

Made in Michigan boxes are delivered on the 15th of each month (with free shipping) and can be purchased in several month increments: one ($29/month), three ($24.99/month), or six ($19/month).

Whether you're gearing up for a weekend trip or headed to the green, the Chevy Blazer offers the perfect blend of style, space, and performance to meet your needs.

You also have the option of a premium box, which is a one time only deal, as opposed to the monthly program. A Classic Made in Michigan Box, Baby Made in Michigan Box and His/Hers Made in Michigan Box are all available for $149.99. For more details, check out the official website.

Mitten Crate is made for Michigan foodies. Each month, you’ll receive anywhere between four and six delicious and locally made food products, shipped right to your door! While boxes are different each month, past packages have included Global Warming Salsa Co. products, Wee Be Jammin’ honey and jams, Dave’s Sweet Tooth Toffee coffee toffee and more.

Crates ship on the 15th of each month, so if you’re planning to sign up, try and do so before the 1st of the month. Subscriptions cost $35/month and can be cancelled at any time. They can also be ordered as one-time gifts! You can feel good about making this purchase, too. Mitten Crate works with Gleaner’s Community Food Bank, so with every box you order, you feed three different people.

Runnerbox is a subscription box for runners, as well as those who are concerned with overall health and staying active. Bi-monthly, a small shoebox will arrive at your door filled with running products like nutrition bars, energy supplements, protein shakes and more.

In addition to the Runnerbox, there’s also a subscription for the Tribox, which comes with products specialized for triathletes. It’s filled with similar items like energy bars, chews and accessories. Both boxes cost $20/month.

Door to Door Organics is a delivery service that allows you to skip your trip to the grocery store entirely. Based in Livonia, Door to Door Organics delivers fresh, seasonal, local organic food items right to your doorstep.

All you have to do is choose your produce box (bitty, small, medium or large), pick a delivery day, and select your items. While there’s plenty of produce to pick from, that’s not all Door to Door Organics offers. Meat and fish, dairy, baked goods, deli items, beverages and pantry items are all available for ordering. Prices vary depending on the size of the produce box you select and whether you choose weekly or bi-weekly delivery.

Items are sourced locally from places like Guernsey Dairy, Great Lakes Coffee and Pinwheel Bakery. The coolest part of Door to Door Organics is that the website is full of recipes and you can add each ingredient to your cart with a simple click. Cooking has never been easier!

Whether you’re interested in food, exercise, or simply Michigan-made anything, there’s a local monthly subscription box out there for you. Who doesn’t like getting mail?
