Virtual Hangouts

As we continue to adjust to our new normal, Metro Detroiters are finding creative ways to stay connected to their loved ones and friends. We might not be able to hang out in person, but technology allows us to keep in touch and have fun during these difficult times. So get the gang together virtually with these fun, and in some cases productive, virtual hangouts.

Netflix Party

Thanks to a Google Chrome extension, friends and family are still able to watch their favorite movies and television shows together when they are apart. It’s simple, just download the Netflix Party app onto your Google Chrome browser, sign into Netflix, invite some friends, pick something to watch and the app will sync your viewing experience. There’s even a chat feature that allows you and your friends to message each other during the movie.

Happy Hour

Going out to bars and restaurants might be on hold for right now, but that doesn’t mean you and your friends can’t still enjoy a happy hour. Set a time for a group video-chat, have your favorite drinks at the ready, and catch-up with your friends about all of the craziness that is going on. For even more fun, you can put a drink in separate rooms of your home and treat it like a bar crawl!

Game Night

Game nights are always a fun way for friends to get together and have some fun. Some games you can play over a video chat include Pictionary, Heads Up, charades, 20 Questions, Tabboo, Password and if you’re feeling extra adventurous, Dungeons & Dragons. Game on (responsibly)!

From transporting food and goods to having enough room for pets and family, owning the right SUV is essential for pet owners. See the available features that make the Chevy Tahoe a pet lover's dream.

Cooking Parties

There are numerous places offering carry-out while their dining rooms are closed, but chances are you’re probably cooking more than you often do. Now is the perfect time to call up your friend with that awesome recipe and have them show you how to make it. You could even get a group together and try a new recipe and see how all of the dishes come out. It’s a great time to try some new recipes!

Study Sessions

While students might not be able to get study groups together in person, you can still get some valuable study time in. Get a group together to go over some homework or study over a video chat to help you stay on top of your classwork. It’s a great way to keep in touch with friends and keep you prepared for when class is back in session.
