Detroit is known for several of its annual music festivals, and it’s safe to say that Movement Electronic Music Festival is one of the biggest.

This year, Movement 2013 will be held over Memorial Day weekend on Saturday, May 25 through Monday, May 27 at Detroit’s Hart Plaza. That’s three day’s worth of opportunities to soak in over 100 artists on five outdoor stages.

The weekend will feature a DJ set by MOBY and live performances from favorites like Shigeto, Matador, The Bug, Nicolas Jaar, Break Science, Squarepusher and and The M Machine. Performance times of the full line-up are subject to change, so if you’re chomping at the bit to see someone in particular, make sure to take a second peek closer to the event date.

While the music is the main event, there are official Movement pre-parties as well as after parties to ensure you have the best time (and weekend) humanly possible. Check the official website for full details.

The after parties run from Friday, May 24 through Sunday May, 27 at popular venues like Bookies, St. Andrew’s Hall, the Detroit Princess Riverboat and more. Most require a cover charge, so be sure to check each party’s details and hit the ATM beforehand.

General admission tickets to DEMF can be purchased individually for $49/day. Additionally, weekend passes are available for $99. Whether you choose to go for one day or all three, rest assured, you’ll get your money’s worth. Movement begins at noon and ends at midnight each day, so that’s 12 hours of electronic music and events to soak up.

Just to give you an idea of how big DEMF really is, nearly 110,000 people attended last year’s festival. Make sure you’re one of the ones to do so this year!
