Ninja Warrior Gyms

At one point or another in your childhood, you probably dreamed of being a ninja. Moving through the shadows, leaping incredible bounds, fast as a fox; all of these things made the idea of being a ninja seem dream-worthy.

Dream no more. In Metro Detroit, there are great gyms that specialize in “ninja training,” through obstacle courses, rock climbing and more. Inspired by the likes of the television sensation Ninja Warrior, these gyms are showing Metro Detroiters the ways of the ninja.

At Gripz Gym, you will find an obstacle course and rock climbing wall. Child and adult classes are available for rock climbing and ninja training. You can register for one, four or eight classes at a time. There is also a membership to use the gym at your leisure, as well as personal training sessions. Gripz Gym also holds tryouts for the National Ninja League. Those who make the team will receive several benefits, including unlimited access to the gym and classes.

From transporting food and goods to having enough room for pets and family, owning the right SUV is essential for pet owners. See the available features that make the Chevy Tahoe a pet lover's dream.

Taking its name from a Japanese word that means to persevere through tough times, Ganbaru is the only Ninja Warrior gym located in Detroit and is owned by two-time Ninja Warrior competitor Elija Sansom. It features ninja training, rock climbing and parkour classes. They also have open gym sessions on Saturdays from 10 a.m. till 2 p.m., host birthday parties and can provide physical education to homeschooled students.

Troy Gymnastics

With a focus on exercise for children, Troy Gymnastics offers ninja training for kids as young as four. More recently, they have added “Advanced” ninja classes, which requires a recommendation from a coach. Kids learn how to fine-tune their motor skills and build strength through obstacle training while simultaneously gaining self-confidence.

With youth and adult training, you can master the obstacle course at The Edge Training Center and put yourself on a path to becoming a ninja warrior. The Edge also hosts competitions through the Athlete Warrior Games for truly dedicated ninjas.

If ninja training isn’t for you, ask about The Edge’s personal training sessions, adult boot camps, kickboxing and yogalates classes. They are currently located in Commerce with plans to open a second location in Plymouth in January 2019.

Grit

At Grit, there’s something for everyone. Adult and youth classes, personal training, birthday parties and more. What’s great is that they have their own smartphone app where you can check class schedules, make appointments and more.
