Batter up! Your Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers are thrilled to present our annual youth baseball clinics with United Shore Professional Baseball League players. This is an opportunity for your child to begin their baseball journey, or refine their skills with the pros.
The United Shore Professional Baseball League is an independent professional baseball organization founded in 2016. The league consists of four teams – the Westside Woolly Mammoths, Birmingham Bloomfield Beavers, Eastside Diamond Hoppers, and Utica Unicorns – all of whom compete at Jimmy John’s Field, just off of M-59 in Utica.
The teams are comprised of post-graduate collegiate baseball players. While not a part of Major League Baseball, their lifelong dedication and commitment to the game result in a remarkably entertaining fan experience, and a wealth of baseball knowledge to share. The upcoming youth clinics present a unique opportunity for these young professional athletes to impart their technical skills on the field, along with years of experience playing youth, high school, and college-level ball.
The clinics are split into two sections – one for beginners (0-2 years experience) and one for developed players (3+ years experience). Both clinics will take place on August 8, with the beginner clinic starting first (5 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.) and the advanced one to follow (6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.).
Instruction will include all aspects of the game, ranging from pitching and fielding to hitting and base running. Specific drills and games will be incorporated to develop your child’s skills while deepening their love of America’s pastime. And of course, they’ll get the unique opportunity to personally connect with players who have spent their lives mastering the game.
