Despite what the name suggests, Detroit Cookie Company cookies are not the only items on the menu. In fact, the cinnamon rolls might be their most popular weekend treat. Their delicious homemade cinnamon rolls are topped with cream cheese frosting. These are baked fresh and only available on Saturdays and Sundays. Owner Lauren Roumayah says these delights are “First come, first served! [They] sell out within 5 minutes to 2 hours, so come at 10 a.m. sharp!”

O.W.L.

O.W.L. is a counter-service, Mexican-American spot open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late night. They serve their cinnamon rolls grilled which is the perfect add-on to any meal. Grilling the cinnamon roll melts the icing and sugar inside, leaving it warm, slightly crispy, and mouth-watering.

With two locations in Birmingham and Ferndale, Toast is a go-to for a delicious breakfast. As a part of their starter menu, you can order their Big Cinnamon Roll, which is served with house-made caramel sauce and powdered sugar. This cinnamon roll is definitely worth sharing.

Over at Bobcat Bonnie’s the cinnamon rolls are offered as a starter on the Brunch menu and is so scrumptious! Social Media Director Jill Bamrick tells us, “Our Cinnamon Rolls are baked and toppers with toffee, cinnamon, pecans, and cream cheese frosting. Perfect way to start your day if you have a sweet tooth!” The cinnamon rolls are served warm in a small skillet, and it is the perfect size for one person.

CORK AND GABEL 

2415 Michigan Avenue, Detroit 

Open for brunch on Saturdays and Sundays, Cork and Gabel is an Earth-to-table restaurant proudly sourcing as many of its ingredients from local establishments as possible. Sittin’ atop their brunch menu is a cinnamon roll with the description, “COLOSSAL, MASSIVE, MOUNTAINOUS, & REALLY BIG,” served with maple cream cheese frosting. You’re going to want a team to tackle this one.

PARC

800 Woodward Avenue, Detroit 

Nestled in Campus Martius Park, Parc is a Downtown Detroit staple, especially for brunch. Their griddled cinnamon rolls come as a pair and are served with honey, butter, and a vanilla glaze drizzle.
