Halloween is quickly approaching but there’s still plenty of time to get out and enjoy some fun and spooky Halloween-themed events happening in Metro Detroit. Whether you’re looking for something to get you moving, test your Halloween knowledge, or support local businesses, there’s something on this list for you. Check out these fun Halloween events and get all the details below!

HOGWARTS HALLOWEEN FUNDRAISER

Saturday, October 21

Discover new horizons with the confidence of the Chevy Silverado, from busy streets to scenic views.

1 – 4 p.m. 

The Hogwarts Halloween Fundraiser is being hosted by A Starrs Initiative, a non-profit organization for women and those who identify as women to seek protection from Domestic Violence. “Every donation and ticket sale proceeds from the Hogwarts Halloween Fundraiser will benefit A Starrs Initiative building fund and support our cause of preventing Domestic Violence while also providing financial education and assistance to survivors of domestic violence and their children. We are striving to build the first Domestic Violence only focused homelike environment for the women and children affected by domestic violence looking for a safe haven but a homelike environment so they can feel comfortable enough to stay until we can find them a new home,” says Mariah Sammons, Founder of A Starrs Initiative. Guests are encouraged to dress as their favorite Harry Potter character, in their house colors, or in any Halloween costume.

WITCH’S NIGHT OUT

96 West 14 Mile Road, Clawson

Thursday, October 26

6 – 8 p.m.

Leon & Lulu in Clawson is hosting their Witch’s Night Out for some spooky shopping fun! “Witches and Warlocks unite! Join us for a night of fun and magic! Dress up in your witch-iest best for 10% off your purchase, enjoy a gift with purchase, enter our costume contest, and taste a few cocktails. Our coven welcomes you and your friends. Make sure to bring your brooms and cauldrons!” This event is free to attend.

CANDLELIGHT: A HAUNTED EVENING OF HALLOWEEN CLASSICS

17360 Lahser Road, Detroit 

Thursday, October 26

6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

The Redford Theatre is hosting Candlelight: A Haunted Evening of Halloween Classics for a classic spin on your favorite Halloween themes. The Listeso String Quartet will play for 65 minutes under the gentle glow of candlelight. Attendees must be 8 years of age or older.

HALLOWEEN TRIVIA

686 Livernois, Ferndale

Friday, October 27

7 p.m.

The Catfe Lounge in Ferndale is hosting a Halloween Trivia event perfect for those who know just about everything about this spooky holiday. Compete with fellow cat lovers for a chance to win a prize as you hang with their delightful cast of felines. Costumes are encouraged. All proceeds go to Ferndale Cat Shelter, a 501(c)3 non-profit cat rescue.

9 p.m.

Boogie Fever in Ferndale is hosting Halloween Costume Parties just before Halloween. Mark, manager at Boogie Fever, says, “We are having 2 nights of parties. Get ready for a spooktacular night of costumes, music, and fun at our Friday Night Halloween Costume Party on October 27th; $20 at the door. Saturday Night Halloween Costume Party will have a DJ mixing 5 decades of dance music.” Both events are 21 and over.

HALLOWEEN HUSTLE 8K, 5K, AND KIDS FUN RUN

31300 Metro Parkway, Harrison Township

Sunday, October 29

8:30 a.m.

The Halloween Hustle 8k, 5k, and Kids Fun Run is taking place at Lake St. Clair Metropark in Harrison Township. There will be awesome tie-dyed long-sleeve shirts, finisher medals, a costume contest, food, music, and great fun for the kiddos! This event is dog and stroller-friendly. Registration prices increase on October 28.

CARNEVALE DI VENEZIA

100 Townsend Street, Birmingham

Saturday, October 29

9 p.m. 

The Carnevale di Venezia, or the Grand Masquerade Ball, is taking place at the Townsend Hotel in Birmingham. For its eighth year, the masquerade ball will combine high fashion and fantasy as guests are delighted with the area’s best in entertainment. This event requires formal or semi-formal attire as well as a Venetian-style mask, which will be worn until midnight.
