If you are a native Metro Detroiter, you likely have had your fair share of pita in your lifetime. Beyond that, you know the difference between a high-quality piece of pita compared to that stale, uninspiring pita you might come across. The good stuff is pillowy and soft, fresh-baked, and can be used in many different ways such as the sandwich wrap and the hummus dipper. Lucky for us, we know exactly where to get the best pita in Metro Detroit and these places are definitely where you need to be to fulfill your pita craving.

The Pita Post

Celebrating its tenth year in business, The Pita Post is a food truck that serves a range of Mediterranean-inspired sandwiches and salads. The food truck can be found at various locations throughout metro Detroit, including Detroit Fleet in Ferndale and the Birmingham Farmers Market. It’s easy to see why The Pita Post has won several awards, including the “Best Food Truck” award from Hour Detroit in 2017. They source their ingredients from local farmers and producers whenever possible so everything is incredibly fresh. Stars of the menu include the famous Schnitzel pita and a rotating cast of vegan options.
