Merely hearing the words Christmas tree farm immediately throws me into the scene of National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation where Clark Griswold traipses his family through the cold and snow only to remember he didn’t bring a saw. Relatable, hilarious, timeless. I remember having similar experiences in the name of family tradition. To this day, I will argue with anyone that a fresh-cut Christmas tree beats an artificial one, hands down. While there are plenty of options for choosing a real tree from a lot, there’s something really fun and magical about going to a tree farm and cutting it down yourself. So pack up the family, prepare your singing voice for carols in the car, and don’t forget the saw!
