Following the ribbon-cutting, children were eager to spend some time with the GO Kart, playing games like Rocket League, NBA 2K18 and more. The benefits immediately became apparent when two children, meeting for the first time, began talking enthusiastically with each other. Even if only for a moment, these kids got to be kids, and forget about the hospital around them.
The contribution comes as part of a sponsorship opportunity Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers took part in last year at Gamers for Giving 2017, an annual fundraising event put on by Gamers Outreach. Gamers Outreach is a 501(c)(3) charity organization that provides equipment, technology, and software to help kids cope with treatment inside hospitals. The funds raised through Gamers for Giving and other initiatives goes directly to the funding of GO Karts for use in children’s hospitals across the country.
