Marrow In The Market is open inside Eastern Market and blends a butcher shop, restaurant, bar, and community space under one roof. The ground-floor market offers locally sourced meats, chef-crafted sausages, and specialty cuts. Beyond the butcher counter, the space includes a large dining room serving elevated comfort dishes inspired by French, English, and American traditions, two distinct bar experiences, and private dining and event spaces. The Butcher Bar operates day and night with casual offerings like rotisserie chicken plates, porchetta sandwiches, smoked ribs, lamb burnt ends, and the Marrow smash burger (after 5 p.m.), while the second-floor City View Lounge provides Detroit skyline views alongside charcuterie, steak frites, roasted bone marrow, and cocktails. Anchoring the complex is the Capital Dining Room, serving as the butcher’s brasserie with options ranging from baked brie with apricot riesling jam and market bacon with date glaze, followed by mains like bone-in short rib and dry-aged pork chops.

Toss & Sauce has also recently opened its doors, bringing a creative, personality-driven pizza concept to the city. Co-owner Ashley Guynes shared that simply opening was a major milestone with her aunt, Cher Slater, along with the pride of catering for the Green Bay Packers during their visit to play the Lions, adding, “We are so excited to bring new and creative flavors to our city. Plans are to be here for the long run; generation after generation.” The menu features signature pizzas like Yo Peezy!! with white sauce and smoked salmon, Mel Street with spicy chickpeas and pesto drizzle, and What Up Dough with barbecue chicken and bacon, alongside build-your-own options with topping choices ranging from shrimp and beef pepperoni to jalapenos and capers, along with house drizzles like hot honey, pesto, and garlic butter.

Lola’s Taco Bar opened in mid-January, adding a new destination for tacos, margaritas, and shareable plates. The Beverly is set to debut later this month as the newest project from Travis Fourmont and Chef Norman Valenti of Bar Pigalle, bringing a familiar level of refinement while leaning more heavily into a relaxed, neighborhood-focused feel. The menu centers on New American comfort food, with an elevated dinner service complemented by weekend brunch and weekday lunch set to launch shortly after opening. Local and Midwest sourcing remains a priority, and the space is designed to welcome gatherings of all sizes thanks to a centrally located private dining room. Fans of Bar Pigalle will also recognize a familiar favorite, as the Pigalle Burger is making its way onto The Beverly’s menu.

Amelia Street Pizza Co. is slated to open this spring in Hazel Park, led by pop-up founder Matt Arb with mentorship from chef James Rigato of Mabel Gray.
