Indie folk rock band Mt. Joy will be performing at The Shelter in Detroit on Monday, September 10 at 7 p.m. The project was the brainchild of high school friends Matt Quinn and Sam Cooper. With life taking them in different directions, it wasn’t until 2016 that they reconvened to record four songs in Los Angeles. It wasn’t long before their music gained traction online and the duo became a quintet. This year, the band released their debut, self-titled album. Additional performance by Michigander. Tickets are $15 each. For more information, visit saintandrewsdetroit.com.
