Grilled cheese sandwiches have a special place in the hearts of many, and there are several spots in Metro Detroit that will serve up the cheesiest versions of the dish. Perfect for a rainy day, when you aren’t feeling well, or just want a cozy meal, you can’t go wrong with a grilled cheese. Whether you prefer a traditional grilled cheese or a gourmet spin on the classic, these cheesy spots will leave you coming back for more.

GoCheez takes grilled cheese to the next level – on wheels. This food truck pops up all over Metro Detroit for different events and is available for catering if you want your guests to enjoy grilled cheese magic. Owner Nick Issa shares, “GoCheez aims to provide a unique take on the classic grilled cheese with our modernized gourmet sandwich. We combine high-quality ingredients with fresh flavors to create the ultimate quick service meal.” Some menu items to highlight are the Walrus, made with cheddar and pepper jack cheese, smoked pulled pork topped with sweet & spicy coleslaw, and house-made BBQ sauce on a cheddar encrusted bread, the Chicken Bacon Ranch, which has cheddar, provolone, smoked pulled chicken and bacon, topped with buttermilk ranch dressing all on a cheddar encrusted bread, and the Handlebar, made with fresh mozzarella, Roma tomatoes, balsamic glaze, and basil pesto grilled on a parmesan encrusted bread.
