There is no definition. It is whatever you want it to be, whether you liked them topped with sprinkles, stuffed or served with chicken. At Faustina’s Creole and Soul Food, the chicken is deep fried with love and soul from the recipe of Chef Anthony’s late father Lenardo Faustina III, who was an international chef himself. Nothing is more unique and original to Detroit than this waffle combo at Kuzzo’s. This waffle (or should I say waffles as customers get two?) is topped with three pieces of fried chicken and served with grits and two eggs with cheese. Where else can you get sweet potato Belgian waffles?! You guessed it: Sweet Potato Sensations! They are selling more than sweet potato pies. Not only are the waffles made from fresh ingredients and served hot, but they are also served with a tasty salmon croquet. What’s better than waffles? A stuffed waffle! Yes! At the Waffles and Omelette Cafe, customers can fill their bellies with a banana-berry or banana nut-stuffed waffle.
